Building the Right Team Culture

ree

Going into the College Football Playoffs, I was watching the Ohio State–Indiana game, and it was just fun to watch. But more than the plays on the field, what stood out was the culture and leadership behind both programs.

Great teams aren’t great by accident. You can see it in how they communicate, how they respond to adversity, and how unified they are around their mission, vision, and principles.

Indiana’s turnaround under Coach Curt Cignetti is a perfect example. Coming from time under Nick Saban, he brought in a mindset built on process over outcome—one play at a time, accountability, high standards, and discipline. And look how quickly things changed. That’s what the right culture does. It transforms.

At 44 Sports Connect, this is exactly what we want to help build in your team, school, or program. Culture doesn’t just happen; it’s taught, trained, and lived. We walk athletes and coaches through identity, purpose, leadership, and mental performance so they can show up with clarity and consistency—on the field and off it.

The right culture creates confidence

.The right process creates progress

.And together, they build teams that last.
